A glimpse of time
For this project I created a series of photographs with color along with the same photographs in B&W. It consists of 12 & 12 photographs 24 in total. All in a portrayal base photograph of people that I know or may not know. Some are from strangers and others are from people I see on my daily life basis such as friends and family. I wanted to capture time and go back with it by simply just transforming its color format into black and white, to give that sense or idea that it’s an old photo. As well as when you look at the photos you can arrange them from the youngest ones to the older so you can see another sense of aging. I think I managed to get that sense of idea with the portrait format since the subjects are human beings and we as humans don’t really see how fast time goes. My approach was very simple from the start, just a single portrait that could be interpreted in the sense of time. I started to build from that and got creative. As for technical tools I used my DSLR canon Rebel SL3. An 18-to-55-meter lens. A Speed light and some lighting from the college studio. Time goes by really quick, and we don’t realize it. With this project I meditated and started to comprehend that time is very valuable. The message I want to give with this project is, take a moment to freeze time and enjoy the moment because it only happens once and when it’s gone it’s gone. So, live with a positive attitude and a joyful charisma.
